PRIVACY & DATA HANDLING

Your files are for the work you requested.

This page explains what the storefront and production workflow store, why that information is needed, and how it can move through the providers involved in an order.

Last updated July 15, 2026
Keep private links private. A proof or payment link may open order-specific information. Share it only with people authorized to review or pay for that order.
01

Information used by the service

MaketheSign.com collects information you submit, such as name, company, email, phone, delivery address, quote details, product specifications, deadlines, notes, artwork, proof comments, and approval decisions.

Order records can include calculated prices, shipping amounts, production and fulfillment status, payment status or provider references, and tracking details. Payment-card entry, when enabled, is handled by the displayed payment provider; MaketheSign.com does not need the full card number in its order record.

The service also receives ordinary technical information needed for security and operation, such as request identifiers, timestamps, browser or device information, network address, and upload or access events.

02

Saved cart and design data on your device

The storefront may save a cart or design draft in browser storage so work can survive a refresh on the same browser. That device-local copy is not a submitted order and may disappear if storage is cleared, private browsing ends, the browser blocks storage, or the saved format becomes incompatible.

Do not treat a local draft as the only copy of important source artwork. Uploaded files and submitted order data follow the server-side workflow only after the applicable upload or submission succeeds.

03

Why information is used

  • Price, review, proof, produce, route, ship, and support requested work.
  • Communicate about quotes, artwork questions, approvals, payment status, production, and delivery.
  • Maintain customer, order, accounting, audit, and security records.
  • Detect abuse, protect upload and review links, troubleshoot failures, and improve the workflow.
  • Meet applicable tax, legal, dispute, or recordkeeping obligations.

The current service does not treat customer artwork or order details as a product for sale.

04

When information is shared

Information is shared only as needed to run the requested workflow or meet an obligation. Recipients can include hosting and storage providers, payment processors, production and wholesale fulfillment providers, carriers, communication services, professional advisers, and authorities when legally required.

Production providers receive the artwork, specifications, delivery information, and job context needed to make or fulfill the assigned product. The production location shown in the pricing summary comes from the product configuration; the final production provider can change for operational reasons.

05

Retention and deletion

Information is kept for as long as reasonably needed to complete work, support reorders or issue review, maintain business and audit records, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting requirements. Different records and files can have different retention periods.

Use the contact path associated with your order or quote to request access, correction, or deletion. A request may require identity verification, and some information may need to be retained for an active order, transaction record, security event, legal requirement, or unresolved dispute.

06

Security and private links

MaketheSign.com uses access controls and operational safeguards intended to protect customer files and records, but no internet service or storage method can promise absolute security.

Proof and payment links can provide access to order-specific information. Do not post or forward them publicly. Close shared-browser sessions, protect access to the order email account, and report a suspected exposed link through the order-specific contact path.

07

Your choices and policy changes

You can choose not to submit optional information, but some details are necessary to quote, produce, deliver, or support an order. Browser controls can clear device-local drafts and carts; doing so does not delete a submitted order or uploaded server record.

This page may change as providers and workflows change. The updated date identifies the published version. Material changes apply going forward unless a different requirement applies.
